Our Cygnet team, located in the U.K., proudly hosted a recent visit by Marc D. Miller, who expressed his appreciation to Cygnet staff for their dedication. Visiting the Cygnet Churchill facility, Marc spent time touring the service, speaking with staff, and sharing in the fun of a soccer match with patients.

A Message from Marc D. Miller

Each of our dedicated employees contributes to the reputation we have earned over the past 44 years as a leader in the healthcare industry. National organizations recognize us for delivering high-quality care, for thought leadership and for our commitment to communities served. We also continue to grow as a company, through expansions, new service lines, de novo builds and acquisitions. To that end, I am proud to announce that UHS once again ranked on the Fortune 500 annual list — this year as number 311. UHS has been ranked on the list for 20 years.

“On behalf of the millions of patients we have the privilege to serve and the UHS leadership team, thank you for all that you do.”

Marc D. Miller

President and CEO

The healthcare industry continues to face headwinds, including addressing the aftermath of the pandemic, a challenging labor market and economic pressures. Nonetheless, our focus on upholding Service Excellence, increasing access to high-quality healthcare, as well as strategic growth positions us well to serve our millions of current and future patients. Consequently, our growth and development are proceeding.

River Vista Behavioral Health in Madera, California will soon accept its first patients, addressing the need for high-quality mental health services in Central California. We are pleased to work with Valley Children’s Healthcare to bring this new facility to the region. On the Acute Care side, we broke ground in late March on the Alan B. Miller Medical Center, named for UHS Founder and Executive Chairman Alan B. Miller. The new hospital, expected to open in 2025, will offer more choices to patients within the Palm Beach Gardens region, as well as honor the legacy and humanity of a healthcare pioneer. The unveiling of the Alan B. Miller Medical Center was a special milestone for UHS and for my family.

Most importantly, we continue to hear from patients who are grateful for the care they receive at our facilities. Their inspiring testimonials speak to our passion for improving and saving lives.

I encourage you to read about these and other notable accomplishments and updates featured in this issue of UHS News, and to take time to understand how your role moves our mission forward.

On behalf of the millions of patients we have the privilege to serve and the UHS leadership team, thank you for all that you do.

Marc
